During and after the 2008 financial crisis, many people lost their jobs and livelihoods. Like any type of adversity, different people have different reactions. Some people never recover from a loss. Other people can experience adversity after adversity and still bounce back and start again full of determination. This show is for anyone wondering how to bounce back in their personal, professional and business life.
Astute Radio’s Carol Stewart started a conversation with Yvonne Halling. Having lost her family business as a result of the financial crisis in 2008, Yvonne’s husband became depressed and they got in to debt. On top of all this, a house fire burnt down most of her house and they became homeless.
Homelessness, rising debt, visits from the bailiffs, having the gas cut off because the bill hadn’t been paid, Yvonne reach rock bottom.
Yvonne shares her story and the skills she used to pull herself and her family out of the sinking debt, bounce back and build a successful business. As Yvonne says, “You do not need to have the whole road map before you start, you just have to have an idea of how it is going to work and move forward”. Find out what Yvonne did to rise up from adversity to running a successful business.
Have you lost your business, home and had bailiffs knocking at your door? What did you do to change your situation? What advice do you have for others?
