What are the the challenges and pressures of masculine identity in the 21st century? What is the changing nature of masculinity and the different ways in which men are shaping the future for all of us?
Astute Radio’s Sarah Pelham started a conversation about being a man. She attended the Being a Man (BAM) Festival in London in November, 2015: An exciting three day festival held at the Southbank Centre. Hundreds of people gathered for the event – now in its second year.
Sarah, as Astute Radio’s Feminist in Conversation, was curious and went along to investigate the talks, debates, music, workshops, performances and discussion exploring everything from fatherhood and friendship, to sex and sexuality, to lad culture and gender equality.

BAM sounds fantastic! Great quotes on Sarah’s interviews: “Economics, politics, society, family and school… all should encourage men and women to achieve their full potential” and
We must “free both genders from the shackles of stereotype and prejudice!”
Way to go – such inspiring people!!
